Our Promise to You

Audio and transcripts can contain personal or confidential information. This policy explains which services receive that information and which records the application maintains so that you can decide whether the service is appropriate for your recording.

What We Collect

Audio Files You Upload

Your audio files are sent to our transcription server for processing
Uploads are sent over HTTPS to remote transcription infrastructure
The current web application does not intentionally add uploaded audio files to its primary account database
Infrastructure providers may process temporary copies, logs, and request metadata needed to operate and secure the service
Do not upload regulated or highly confidential material unless these processing terms meet your requirements

Usage Analytics (Anonymous)

Service, security, and usage events needed to operate limits and diagnose failures
Authenticated usage totals such as transcription minutes and AI calls
Local browser preferences used for language, interface, and review-prompt behavior

Account and Billing Information

An account is optional for the short anonymous trial and required for account-based allowances and paid features
Accounts use an email address and authentication records
Subscription and billing records are processed through Polar; the site does not receive full payment-card details
Authentication and preference cookies or browser storage may be used
The application database includes structures for account-associated transcript history; only save content you are comfortable retaining in your account

How Transcription Works

You upload an audio file from your device
The file is sent via encrypted HTTPS to our Cloudflare-powered transcription server
AI processes your audio and generates text
The transcript is sent back to your browser
The result is returned to the browser, where you can review, edit, copy, or export it

Processing time depends on file length, format, and service availability. The application does not promise a universal completion time or zero-retention behavior across every infrastructure provider.

AI Summarization & Translation

When you choose chat, summarization, or translation, relevant transcript text is sent through OpenRouter to the configured AI model. Those optional features are separate from transcription. Review OpenRouter's current data policies before sending confidential transcript text; this site cannot independently guarantee a third party's retention or model-training practices.

HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
Cloudflare CDN & DDoS protection for infrastructure security
Access controls for authenticated account and billing routes
Usage limits and server-side API keys for optional AI requests

For Legal, Medical, and Business Users

We understand that lawyers transcribing depositions, doctors recording patient notes, and businesses processing confidential meetings have higher privacy requirements.

While we take security seriously, please note that files do leave your device during processing. For highly sensitive content requiring HIPAA or specific regulatory compliance, we recommend evaluating whether this service meets your organization's legal requirements.

We do not sell, share, or trade your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location and relationship with the service, you may have rights concerning personal information associated with your account or correspondence, including the ability to:

Ask what account information is associated with you
Request correction or deletion where applicable
Cancel a subscription through the available billing controls
Ask a privacy question using the contact address below

Children's Privacy

This service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page with the new date. Major changes will be noted clearly at the top.
